TAEX is excited to participate in Art Singapore 2025, showcasing the Continuum project by a renowned contemporary artist Krista Kim in FOCUS and DIGITAL SPOTLIGHT sections of the fair.
TAEX booth will feature works by Krista Kim who has close ties with Singapore. An award-winning Canadian-Korean artist, she is Metaverse Editor of Singapore Vogue, her works were exhibited at Singapore Art Museum and featured at Vogue Singapore.
The Continuum project is a digital Zen landscape that was created in response to the disconnection and distraction pervading society today due to technology overuse. Krista Kim sought to transform digital screens into spaces for mindfulness rather than distraction. The collection on TAEX includes 10 unique 2-minute segments from the whole Contunuum artwork.
The artworks consist of subtle gradients on the screens that gradually shift over time, creating an ever-evolving tranquil scene. Krista’s inspiration came from her time spent in the serene Ryoanji Temple Garden in Kyoto combined with seeing the potential of digital interfaces as portals to peace.
The Continuum project is the most recognised series by Krista Kim. It overtook Times Square in 2022, as part of the Times Square Arts commission, turning an advertisement-filled space into a meditation zone. One of the three long Continuum pieces is in the permanent collection of LACMA Museum in Los Angeles. The second piece has been acquired by a prominent private collector and the third one we are showcasing at our booth.
