Untitled, Miami

Miami Beach, FL. August 27, 2024 – Leading contemporary art fair Untitled Art, Miami Beach announces 171 exhibitors in its 2024 edition for its largest presentation to date. The 2024 fair will be held on Miami Beach between Ocean Drive and 12th Street from Wednesday, December 4 to Sunday, December 8, with a VIP and Press Preview on Tuesday, December 3.

Led by an ongoing dedication to increasing diversity and representation across the contemporary art market, Untitled Art’s 2024 program is shaped by a curatorial focus of “East Meets West”. This theme expands upon past presentations of the fair that aimed to nurture greater inclusivity through a focus on gender equality and digital accessibility but this year looks to embrace a more global outlook, making room for more cultural voices from around the globe. Guided by two guest curators, Kathy Huang, an independent curator and Managing Director, Art Advisory and Special Projects at Jeffrey Deitch, New York, and Jungmin Cho, Founder and director of the art space WHITE NOISE, Seoul, this year’s curatorial theme acts as a bridge between cultures while challenging traditional understandings of “East” and “West.” Through this conceptual focus, Untitled Art showcases the universality of contemporary art while giving a platform to lesser-known artists and communities not just from Asia but artists, galleries and non-profits based in Eastern Europe, the Middle East, Asia Pacific and the Asian diaspora.

Gateway: Korea by NFT Now

As we eagerly await the arrival of The Gateway Korea, we invite you to join us on the journey to our flagship event going global. The Gateway will feature an audio-visual gallery where art, technology, and community unite. Attendees will also be able to engage in fireside chats with visionary creators worldwide, representing both Western and Eastern cultures.

As we are on the road to Korea, we’ve interviewed some of the biggest Korean creators in the Web3 space who will be exhibiting at the event, each pioneering their artistic journey in unique ways.

First, we have DeeKay Kwon, the prodigious 2D animator from South Korea. With over a decade of experience in animation, DeeKay ventured into the NFT space 2.5 years ago, pushing the boundaries of traditional art and exploring new horizons within the digital realm.

Next, we have Krista Kim, a Canadian Korean who has spent 13 years living in Seoul and other parts of Asia. Her artistic expression delves into meditative painting in the digital age, where she skillfully merges technology as a mechanism for wellness, bringing harmony and serenity to the ever-evolving digital landscape.

Grant Yun, a Korean American born and raised in Southern California, completes the trio of influential creators. Grant’s work creates extraordinary from the ordinary, creating art that reflects simplicity and attention to detail.

Together, these artists are shaping the future of art in the Web3 space and embodying the essence of cultural diversity and creativity that The Gateway seeks to celebrate.

In a conversational Twitter Space, nft now sat down with Krista Kim, Grant Yun, and DeeKay Kwon to dive into their Korean identity, what they’ll be showcasing at The Gateway in Korea, and Korea’s impact on global culture.

LUX: New Wave of Contemporary Art

Exhibition Dates: September 4th (exhibition preview), September 5th (Open to Public) - December 31st, 2023

Light (‘Lux’ in Latin) has endured as a symbol rich in meaning for thousands of years. It represents creation at the genesis of all things, it is a metaphor for the wisdom’s illumination and is now all-pervasive in our digitally saturated reality.

LUX: A New Wave of Contemporary Art showcases installations by up to 13 international contemporary artists exploring the powerful symbolism of Light, with light itself as its primary medium. We invited our artists to reflect on three key concepts: Genesis light, Nature light, and Digital light so that this curated selection could explore the dynamic and transformative capabilities of light itself, providing a thought-provoking presentation on its abstract attributes and its profound influence on our perception of the world.

This exhibition offers visitors an opportunity to rediscover an ancient, mystical approach to ‘light’ through the lens of modern and contemporary art, leveraging the full potential of 21st-century digital technologies. These artists, who explore and manipulate with ‘light’ in their work, aim to challenge preconceived dichotomies between tradition and innovation, nature and technology, tangibility and intangibility, and human and post-human. Their goal is to forge new ways of understanding our place in the world. Visitors will embark on a captivating journey through the radiant tapestry of our existence, as we strive to illuminate the world within and around us.
